Parliament budget sessions in two phases.

The Parliament Budget sessions are set to begin on January 31. On the first day, Friday, President Droupadi Murmu will address both houses of Parliament. It is well known that the Parliament sessions will be held in two phases. The first phase will start on January 31 and continue until February 13. The second phase will begin on March 10 and run until April 4. According to the Parliamentary Bulletin released on Tuesday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget 2025 in the Lok Sabha on February 1. The President will address both houses the day before. After the President's speech, the Rajya Sabha proceedings will begin half an hour later.

Ahead of the Parliament sessions, the government has arranged an all-party meeting on January 30, as announced by Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju. He urged opposition leaders to cooperate for the smooth functioning of the sessions. He also referred to the disruptions in past sessions. There was chaos in both sessions of Parliament, which harmed its reputation. He requested that opposition leaders and other MPs participate in discussions during this session. He emphasized that Parliament can function effectively and discussions can take place only if the opposition cooperates. He expressed hope that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present a balanced budget this time.
